Puy du Fou España opens its doors!

March 2021 saw the opening of the first Puy du Fou park outside France – on the outskirts of Toledo in central Spain. Madrid-based journalist Agnish Ray was first through the doors on behalf of the Times and Sunday Times to test the experiential leap back in time.

Since its launch in 2019, 120,000 visitors have watched ‘El Sueño de Toledo’, Puy du Fou España’s grand-scale night-time production which brings to life 1500 years of Spanish history. The show paved the way for the new Park, which features four thrill-packed daytime shows and four period villages, with craftsmen, artisan workshops and restaurants representing different eras of Spanish history.

Watch an aerial dance performed by hundreds of birds of prey in the ‘Cetrería de Reyes’ show, or embark on an epic immersive naval experience with Christopher Columbus in ‘Allende la Mar Océana’. In the period villages, breathe in the scent of honey and almonds in the colourful surroundings of an authentic Moorish camp and watch embroiderers and potters at work in La Puebla Real.
