Great to see client Wish Sicily’s new Villa Idda included in the best new places to stay section of the Times’ 50 Best Holidays in Italy for 2017. Set amongst the orange groves that surround the seaside town of Acireale, the recently restored villa comprises two separate buildings (perfect for two families), connected by a shaded dining terrace overlooking the garden and pool. Back to school

Last weekend’s Times travel section featured a selection of family holidays guaranteed to add colour to your child’s school days. Greek island cruises, language lessons on the ski slopes and Tudor history in Kent all appeared, together with a Wish Sicily holiday on Sicily’s east coast. Stay in Villa Viscalori on the slopes of Mount Etna and your kids can find out all about volcanoes as well as brushing up on their ancient history in nearby Taormina.

Ask the (Times) Doctor

A Wish Sicily villa holiday was one of the options put forward by the Times Travel Doctor in response to a reader enquiry for a multi-generational celebration holiday that combines the beach, culture and activities.

With the added benefit of extra space for additional guests, the recommended villas (Sunny House and Prora del Plemmirio) are both in south east Sicily, within easy reach of the annual ancient Greek theatre festival in Syracuse, and the baroque towns of the Val di Noto.
