New attractions for 2018 in the theme park world

Great to see client Puy du Fou included in The Sun newspaper’s summary of what’s new in the theme park world for 2018. Alongside its spectacular daytime shows, Puy du Fou features several immersive experiences including, new this year, Le Mystère de la Pérouse. The attraction has also added a new dining experience, Le Café de la Madelon, where visitors are both spectators and participants in a stunning show, packed with unexpected developments and surprises, in a restaurant reminiscent of the traditional Parisian cafés from the turn of the 20th century.

Best value breaks in the Med

Several weekend travel articles focussed on affordable Spring and Summer sunshine breaks. iNews included Wish Sicily’s pretty Casetta in Pietra in its round-up of summer villas for under £1,000. The 2-bedroom cottage sits on the edge of the Monte Cofano Nature Reserve in western Sicily, overlooking the beach. Read more here

Sand yachting, horse riding and canal-side cycling are just some of the activities flagged up in the Telegraph’s 10 Best French Adventures for 2018. Also included is the fabulous Puy du Fou theme park where periods of French history are recreated in spectacular shows and walk-through attractions. Read more here

Wish Sicily in the press

Several of client Wish Sicily’s villas have been featured in the national press in recent weeks.

The Times’ collection of 50 best Mediterranean villas focussed on Italy, France, Spain, Croatia and Turkey with Wish Sicily’s Cupole Arabe leading the Italy selection online. The unusual dome-shaped villa is situated on the island’s west coast, just 200m from the beach and within easy reach of nature reserves, ancient Greek sites and the towns of Marsala and Trapani. It can’t be easy to know where to start when pressed to find the 50 best holidays in Italy, as the Times did last weekend with its annual round-up of ideas.  We were delighted to see two of our clients featured amongst the collection of holidays which incorporated hiking, cycling, sailing, riding and a fair amount of wine-tasting and foodie-related suggestions.

We’re delighted to have been taken on board by Puy du Fou, France’s second largest theme park. A 3-day recce in September was enough to convince us that this was something special – a theme park with spectacular shows but no rides, upmarket accommodation and, judging by the visitors, one that appeals to every generation. Fiery foliage and crisp autumn leaves are undeniably lovely – but then so is the prospect of some last gasp sunshine during October half-term. The Telegraph’s round-up of sun and sea packages for families includes a Wish Sicily holiday in the hills above Cefalù on Sicily’s north coast.

Great to see two of our clients featured in the website’s travel section. Fresh mountain air, spectacular scenery and some wonderful spa indulgence are just some of the treats on a Hedonistic Hiking guided walking holiday – but gourmet food and superb wine also play their part (cue ‘Hedonistic’). Anyone planning a trip to Sicily would do well to start with the Guardian’s recent Holiday Guide to East Sicily. Compiled by Liz Boulter, the guide gives the complete low down on everything worth seeing and doing on the island’s Ionian Coast, from the best beaches and nature reserves, to its towns, villages, castles and palaces.

Great advice too on where to eat and stay, including Wish Sicily’s gorgeous Villa Lo Scoglio, a two-bedroom villa situated just south of Syracuse, with 270° sea views and direct access to rocks for swimming.
