JG Communications appointed by Hedonistic Hiking

We’re thrilled to be working with Hedonistic Hiking whose guided walking holidays in Italy focus as much on food and wine as on the landscape. So, as well as some spectacular hiking, there is wine-tasting, gourmet picnic lunches, visits to cheese producers and, in the autumn, truffle hunting.  Guests stay in hand-picked, locally-owned hotels including Italy’s distinctive alberghi diffusi, an initiative which supports the conversion of empty or abandoned homes in a rural village to provide ‘scattered’ rooms, rather than building a new hotel.

Budget holiday ideas from Prima magazine

Get some top tips on keeping holiday costs down from the April issue of Prima magazine. If you thought that a maximum budget of £50 per person per night meant camping and baked beans on toast, think again. Suggestions from Prima include holidays in France, Spain, Tokyo and the Big Apple and, for those who just want to crash by their own private pool, Wish Sicily’s Casa Turchina. The 3-bedroom villa has a garden and pool and is just 100m from the beach. Read Prima article here.

Marie Claire visits Sicily

Editor in chief Trish Halpin writes about her stay at Wish Sicily’s Villa Atena, near Ragusa, in Marie Claire’s April issue. With so much to see in the area, one week is just about long enough to explore the fascinating town of Ragusa Ibla, visit the beaches at Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa and, of course, experience, the best of Sicilian cuisine. Read about Trish’s Wish Sicily holiday online or in the April issue of Marie Claire.

Floral fantasies from Woman’s Own

Spring still seems a way off here in London although the lighter mornings and longer days haven’t gone unnoticed. At Woman’s Own, thoughts are turning to all things floral and this week’s edition features a selection of flower festivals – in Japan, Madeira, Cornwall, Holland and Sicily. Sicily’s contribution is the L’Infiorata di Noto festival, when artists transform Noto’s Via Nicolaci into a floral carpet made up of mosaic-style pictures, overlooked by the baroque balconied palazzi which characterise the town. Wish Sicily features a selection of villas and apartments in and around Noto.
